Every WordPress theme has one of two kinds of a homepage by default:
- A basic listing of your blog posts or what is called your blog archive page.
- A custom layout specific to that theme.
But most people don’t know that you have the option to create a static homepage with some basic information on it. In the first case above, you may not even be using a blog or you might want your blog as an inside page instead. In the second scenario, maybe things have changed and you don’t need that fancy, custom layout as your homepage anymore.
